Ausbildung - earn while you train in Germany.
Germany's dual vocational training route. Indian youth (typically 18–35) train inside a real German company plus a vocational school, get paid €900–1,300/month from day one, and step into €2,500–€3,800/month skilled jobs on completion. Lakshya runs the end-to-end rail: trade match, German language, employer contract, §16a visa, and pre-departure.
Germany's dual vocational training system.
Ausbildung is the German Federal Government's officially-regulated apprenticeship route - and it's how about 60% of Germans actually start their careers. You sign a binding contract with a company, get paid every month, and split your time between hands-on work at the employer (about 70%) and theory at a vocational school called the Berufsschule (about 30%).
At the end you receive an IHK or HWK certificate that's recognised across the EU and is the standard licence to practise your trade in Germany. For Indian youth, this is a non-degree, non-debt route into Europe - 327 recognised dual-training occupations, most of them facing structural labour shortages.
University vs Ausbildung.
The dual model, in four moves.
Who hires Ausbildung trainees.
Ausbildung is how Germany's largest, most respected employers staff their floor. A signed contract from any of these is a residency-grade credential.
High-demand Ausbildung trades for 2026.
Where the placements happen.
Bavaria, NRW, Baden-Württemberg and Hessen lead on Ausbildung volume. These eight cities alone account for the majority of internationally-open positions.

Six steps from India to a German contract.
German is the single biggest lever.
Almost every Ausbildung rejection at the embassy or employer interview traces back to German language readiness. Lakshya runs an in-house Goethe / telc-aligned track: A1 → A2 → B1 in 8–10 months on average, with mock interviews in German and DIN 5008 cover-letter coaching before the employer call.
Vocational Training Visa - §16a AufenthG.
Issued under Germany's Skilled Immigration Act (Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz). Requires a signed Ausbildung contract from a recognised employer, proof of German B1, school certificate recognition, and proof of subsistence (covered by the trainee allowance for most trades). Stay covers the full training period and converts to a work-permit on completion.
